THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT

HARD GARAGE FROM L.A.

Biography

THE LORDS OF ALTAMONT: Band Info

The Lords of Altamont are the Sons of the Rock Gods of Mars. To them, rock is war straight from a red planet. As it should be. We should be very grateful for this small mercy alone.

The Lords of Altamont have picked up the torch that signifies rock, with or without, the roll (do we really have to stick labels on rock?). These Lords are riding their motorcycles with our torch. The flame streams out behind them — warming — exhilarating — brightening the sky of our rocking world.

Paradoxically, their music is primitive: primitively sublime as Little Richards’ ‘Long Tall Sally’. As vibrantly evocative as John Kongos’  “He’s Gonna Step On You Again’.

Experiencing The Lords Of Altamont live is reveling in their music. It is scrabbling in the dirt among our music’s earliest roots. The Lords of Altamont make it sound as if it’s where we’re going. With bands like this around, rocking journeys to and from space will always be pleasurable undertakings.

The band was formed in December 1999. Born from the ashes of the The Bomboras – the most inspiring instrumental surf band of the late 1990’s – The Lords Of Altamont are generating a hard, dirt and fuzz-fueled sound more attuned to the streets of inland Los Angeles than to Huntington Beach!
Inspired by the unrest born from the 1969 Altamont Concert and bands like the MC5, The Stooges and The Cramps, The Lords reached worldwide popularity releasing four albums and playing extensively live as headliner or sharing the stage with bands like The Who and Motorhead.

14 years later, The Lords Of Altamont have no intention to stop the rampage.  Featuring founding member and band leader Jake ‘The Preacher’ Cavaliere, former The Cramps drummer Harry Drumdini, eccentric guitarist Dani Sin and solid-rock bass player Zim, the band will be releasing their fifth album ‘The Lords Take Altamont’ on April 2014 on Gearhead Records. – Michael Dawkes
